Eleventh Day Efficacity

Effecacity indeed. I lost 1 kilo! I'm 52 now...haha it's probably not much for others, such as the 25 kilo girl I wrote about previously, but I haven't lost much recently, so this is encouraging.

I am getting scared though...the peanut butter that would help me up my calorie intake? It's now overpowering me. It's causing me to nearly exceed my calorie goal, and I'm nervous. Oh so nervous. I asked my mum to hide it, but she's not for some reason...I'm seriously contemplating chucking the jar out of feeding it to my dogs so I can save myself.

I also exceeded my fat intak, protein intake and sugar intake, but my sugar just went over by three grams....
Oh, and I discovered an amazing low-cal food today...enoki mushrooms! They're those long stringy, chewy Japanese mushrooms that are virtually in every Japnese dish...probably why they're all so skinny! Anyway, one large enoki mushroom is only 2 calories! The thing is though, I have no idea how big one large mushroom is...anyone got any ideas?

But yeah. The winter virus has been catching up in my family, so I stayed home today...and ate more...I've got to try and get back on track though. Saying goodbye to peanut butter!

Also had a new diet discovery-the Skinny Girl Diet. It goes for 30 days, and has varying calorie allowances each day. Additionally, you can eat as much fruit and veg as you want, and they don't count into your calorie intake! I'm loving the idea, but I'm not too sure whether it's legit...there isn't anything such as negative calories, and I'm quite sure as much fruit and veg as I want would make me gain a fair bit...I've read amazing reviews though, so I'll probably try it after I finish the 4 week plan.
Oh, and because your body's metabolism adapts to your calorie deficit in about 10 days, I might have a refeed day at the ten day mark, doubling or tripling my calorie intake...then going low low low for the subsequent days to make up for it.

But yeah, I really need to watch my tastebuds!

Tenth Day Tenacity!

Hello lovelies!

Today my taste buds came back, and I finished the day at 1167 calories and 74 carbs. Oh, and right now, my definition of low-carb is under 100 grams...I know it's not low to some people, especially those on/have been on the Atkins Diet, where they recommend you take in 7-10 grams of carbohydrates a day. Nevertheless, it is reasonably low for me.

Today at lunch, I skipped my chicken breast and egg for a slow-cooked beef stew, with cauliflower, tomato, carrot and celery. It was deliciousssssss! No added flavour, including salt, and nice and warm for the winter weather coming up! However, the lack of protein did leave me feeling hungry quite quickly, so I had dinner early-a substantial amount of protein, including two egg whites and 75 grams chicken breast.

I think I do need to scale back on my healthy fats a bit though...I exceeded my limit again today, and by 16 grams! That's 144 calories! Whoops, that means I exceeded my calorie goal today...
Mummy dearest bought some peanut butter, and at first I thought "Yay, I can get my body out of starvation mode without carb-loading", but now I know I have to be more careful.
Tomorrow, I'm definitely having my protein for lunch...or it'll be like today.

I am determined to stick to low-carbing till Sunday! xxx

Ninth day Nourishment

Went great today as well! I was even fuller than yesterday after my main meal at lunch, which was cucumber, a palm sized serving of chicken breast, 3 walnuts and 2 eggs. Wow, that was filling. So much satiety. I'd like to think I'm still going strong, but I'm not turning my back on my taste buds!!!

I reached my healthy fat goal again, and passed it by 8 grams or so...uh oh...nuts are nomnom though!
Toasted almonds are delish! The texture is amazing...I had 20 for breakfast, because I was in a rush. Also had cashews, walnuts and peanuts.

You know what the best part about low-carbing is!? I'm actually staying withing my sugar goal of 24 grams a day. On the fruity weeks, this digit would exceed the limit by 100 or more! I'm so happy!!
I've been sure to keep my veggie intake up to replace my fruit though...oh, did you know broccoli has more Vitamin C than oranges!? It's true!

Well, that's all for today. Not much, but I'm happy, and still cautious...good luck to everyone out there!

EIGHT DAY endurance

It's Monday. Funfun.

LOW CARB CENTRAL THIS WEEK! It's my first time low-carbing and I'm really really excited!!! For every gram of carbs your body takes in, it carries along with it two grams of water! So really, you're carrying three times as much weight as you should be! And while the weight you lose may only be water weight, low-carbing is often used to shed the pounds FAST! Moreover, low-carbing boosts your health and sharpens your systems, so that's a bonus!

Short post today. First day of low carbing was good, but then again the first days of each plan to change are always successful...I'll have to be sure to keep an eye out for my creeping taste buds! I had so much protein from chicken breast and nuts I didn't even feel like eating at dinner, during which time I would normally be dreaming about ice cream and pastries, and then acquire them. And scoff them.
But, I think when a low-carb diet's best bet is meat, you have to be SERIOUSLY hungry to chew through another chunk of meat.
Oh, and for the first time ever, and when I say ever I literally mean ever, in all the time of my existence on planet Earth, I reached my healthy fat goal!!! I never do! I reached 40 grams, and still had a massive 6 grams of saturated fat to spare!

Someone internet high five me please.

But yeah. That's my first day of low carbing. I'd say it was great, but you have to remember first days always are. I only pray that I am blessed with the strength to keep going!

Oh, and we had the beep/bleep test today! I was stoned at first, but after I was quite happy! I improved by 0.6...going from 8.8 to 9.4. I was actually surprised, because I thought I was un-fitter. I figured out you need really good control of your body though-you definitely must have good control; you can't let everything loose or you'll get exhausted so much quicker! I', a happy chappy.

We also had footy training, and played our first training game this year, in training. It was a beautiful light drizzle and the mud was mediocre, which made the game amazing. However, I just realised how unfit I was. Just before half-time, I was puffed. Puffed I tell you. Not even kidding. I was dying...
Turns out I'm a good tackler though! I love it. It's fun. The secret? Run to where the ball is going, wait for the opposition to get the ball, and then drop your body weight on them. Just drop it like it's hot.

I suck at kicking though. I took a free kick coz someone nearly killed me, and I was so tired I only kicked it about a dew metres out. Wow, the look on the coach's face. priceless.

Sixth Day Sorriness, Seventh Day Sabotage

This post is late, but here's what happened.

There was an excess of 900 calories on Saturday.
I was determined to make it up on Sunday.
I failed on Sunday.
My "all-or-nothing" mentality which I'm trying to abolish set me up for the worst.
I ended up having an unplanned cheat day, so it was a binge.

Thankfully though, apart from that half tub of cookies 'n' cream ice cream, it was mostly healthy stuff. See? My all-or-nothing mindset is disappearing! IF you don't think so, you should have seen me in the past. It was seriously ALL or nothing.
But yeah. I did end up not sticking to week one.

I ate a lot of bananas. Oh well, at least I still had my 10 cups water. When I first started calorie counting, it took me a while to stick to the program, because I read on the MyFitnessPal website that you could "eat whatever you want[ed]". But I did end up learning how to stick to 1200, all the way from my first ever log in of 2034 calories...when coupled with a sedentary lifestyle, this was destined to be a path to obesity. I had to change. I'm doing it slowly, but it's progress :)

As always, any comments or support is greatly appreciated. I would love to read some of your blogs and follow you on your weight loss journeys!

Oh, and earlier this week, some girl at our school revealed she lost 25 kilos. She's is insanely skinny now! She did use to be overweight, but she took control of that and now she's inspirational. Before her weight loss, she was disrespected and bullied, but now she gets looks of new respect and acknowledgement-not to mention the bewildered, unbelieving looks on her abusers' faces!!! I truly salute her, and she looks and I can tell she also feels so much more amazing!

Here's my diaries once again!

P.S. Do you like my alliteration in the headings? *winky face* I can't do an actual winky face, because the font makes it come out so weird. Yeah.
