Well, I'm writing this a week late, so I'll just write about my very first week of IF.
Frankly, it seemed far too easy. Sure, I got hunger pangs, but I just drank water and they went away. I even managed to go as low as 800 during the week, simply because I couldn't be bothered preparing food and eating. Strange.
My days were something like this: I got home at 3:30, waited till 4pm, then I filled up on a lot of protein, with a protein shake and two servings of meat every day. One of my favourite, most recurring lunches was a salad with:
-Base: leafy vegetables (e.g 50g 4 leaf mix, spinach, cos, etc)
-Layers: 2 of the following: 1/2 capsicum, 1/2 cucumber, 1 medium zucchini or 1 medium tomato
-Meat: Usually 75g boiled skinless chicken breast or 100g tuna in springwater
-Dressing: Always just the juice of 1/2 lemon, kamquats or lime
-Jewel: 1 walnut, crumbled on top.
Now that I think about it, I might start having this everyday for lunch again, because it really kept my hunger at bay. The salad was followed by 1/2 teaspoon of virgin, organic, unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil, and this kept me full for a long time. When I next felt like snacking, I would have my protein shake, and that usually kept me full till the end of the night. Oh, and I chewed a lot of gum. A lot.
Anyway, on Saturday, or around then, I weighed myself for the first time in a while. And I was 52.3!!!! That's about 2.2kg lost! I was so insanely happy, because I hadn't seen any number below 53 in a while. Goa One completed! So happy, so happy, so happy! Sure, this may have been due to the low calorie count, but IF sure helped that! I was amazed, mitigated, happy, alleviated. Ecstatic, excited, buoyant, mollified.
And then the weekend came.
Because I had no school, I struggled to fast until 4. I eventually caved, and broke my fast early. On Saturday, I ate slightly over my goal. On Sunday, I tried to compensate, but I only fell deeper into excess calories.
So, even though I tried to start afresh on Monday, I couldn't. Well, I ate well on the actual Monday, I just couldn't compensate for Saturday and Sunday. Silly me, I should have just said, "I'm back on track" then. But no, I HAD to compensate.
On Tuesday, I binged. Almost 2500 calories. I haven't done that in a long time.
Wednesday was actually good-about 850. I thought I was back! |
On Thursday, my just-pregnant teacher decided it would be a good idea to give out jelly babies in light of her pregnancy. Fast? Broken.
By Friday, I was exactly starved, but more upset, confused, unmotivated, exhausted. I bought a curly wurly at school from fundraising and didn't even start my fast.
And when Saturday came, I binged hard. 1800 calories. A day before weigh day! However, I didn't break my fast, because I woke up at 3, but I became addicted to Nutri-grain and couldn't stop. Bowl after bowl...on Sunday, I binged again. 1900 calories...NUTRI-GRAIN, WHY?! I also consumed an unhealthy amount of natural homemade peanut butter during the week...I don't think I'll be making that again any time soon...
I was sure I had ballooned back up to 54.5, but when I weighed on Saturday, I was 52.5-53kg. Somewhat happy? Relief that I didn't gain as much, but still expectantly disappointed in myself.
So, new week.
Monday? Binged. I was determined to fast till 4 and go swimming, but mum met me with taro buns and green-tea-red-bean buns and chocolate scrolls in the car after school. I said no at first, but we got home, and I broke my fast at 3:30pm with tumeric chicken because I had to go swimming. But then, I ate a green-tea-red-bean bun, then the taro bun, then another green-tea-red-bean bun. Then I went to sleep, didn't go swimming, and yeah. AND THE TARO BUN WAS 600 CALORIES.
I can't be bothered trying anymore for today, but tomorrow will be different. I'll fast till 4, drinking 7 cups of water during that time, eat a meal only at lunch-no extras-brush my teeth, chew gum, drink more water, do my homework, take my protein when I need it, then have dinner-and only dinner. Protein will be my only snack, and gum. Who needs food anyway? I'm determined to get to GW2 by the end of this week.
Because this post is excessively wordy, the next posts will feature my horrific realisation that my friend has a skinnier waist than me, my active haul from last weekend, a chicken-cheese-egg recipe, and a green-tea-smoothie <3
I'M SMASHING TOMORROW. FAT GET OFF ME.

Intermittent Fasting
I'm sure all of us in the weight-loss world have been exposed to the hype of intermittent fasting at some point.
It is supposedly the new method of torching fat, and even has health benefits such as prevention of cancer, stroke and heart disease.
Well, I was recently enlightened on this topic, mostly from a successful friend of mine on MFP in the weight-loss sense. And what source is more reputable than one who has tried, and succeeded?
She does the IF of 18/6 - 18 hours fasting, 6 hours eating window. This suits my lifestyle exceptionally well, as I am sleeping or at school for most of the fasting hours.
So I said, I'm going to do it.
After conducting some research and many tiring questions, (sorry, M), I devised a 3-component plan.
Firstly, there's the fasting (obviously). I plan to fast in the pattern of 18/6 as well, and gradually work my way up to 20/4. According to nowloss.com, 16-20 hours of fasting empowers your body to metabolise fat to its maximum ability. During the fasting period, you are allowed to consume sugar-free gum (yay!), black coffee, plain tea and lots and lots of water.
I also plan to combine intermittent fasting with a low-carb-high-protein diet, so as to maximise fat burning for energy, rather than carbs. I also find that low-carb helps suppress my appetite a lot more than, say, the SGD diet. However, it is not essential for IF, but I find that it will help with bf% reduction.
So from now on, I will be eating plenty of chicken breast, tuna in springwater, boiled basa fish and grilled salmon, as well as leafy vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, capsicum, cucumbers, celery and the like. Also on the list are nuts, protein powder, shiritaki noodles and sugar-free...stuff. All sugars are carbs, so avoiding that will hopefully mean avoiding carbs.
Number three is coconut oil. I've never actually stuck to this for long enough, but from today onward I am consuming 1-2 teaspoon of extra-virgin, cold-pressed, unrefined coconut oil. I have had the Melrose extra-virgin, cold-pressed, unrefined coconut oil butter at home for a while now, for cosmetic purposes. It's amazing as a body moisturiser, eye make up remover, and hair treatment. It's also full of MCTs, which are readily utilised for energy rather than being converted into fat.
And there you have it. FLCC: Fasting, Low-Carb and Coconut oil.
I began trying on Sunday for 18 hours, but broke it at 16.5 hours with chocolate cake. I also went over my calorie goal, but I evened it out from free calories the day before and tomorrow (today). So I didn't do low-carb, but still got 16+ hours of IF.
Today, I did 18 hours of fasting, and my first meal was a delicious salad. I also took my coconut oil and sugar-free gum. It is quite important to break the fast with something healthy, so the body doesn't store as much fat. Dinner will be another salad, along with coconut oil, and a protein shake is coming up right about now.
So yeah. I really can't wait to see if IF works or not. I'm determined to stick with it for at least a week (how long they say it takes to start working), and I will report on my (potential) weight loss then.

I will succeed
I cannot even begin to apologise for my prolonged, unanticipated absence.
And I cannot even begin to explain.
Sadly, disappointingly, my situation has not improved during my truancy.
I am now officially 54.5 kg, even 55.
I am also 169 cm (grew 2 cm).
However, my increased height is no excuse for this weight gain. My bmi is higher than ever now, as is my visceral fat and my cellulite is more axiomatic than ever in my life, even before my weight-loss ambitions.
Actually, perhaps I would care to explain.
You see, high school is a cruel time in your lifetime. The lifeless teachers unsympathetically hose you with a steady flow of assignments, often simultaneously. Evidently, this leads to stress (horrible breakouts, dull skin, slowed metabolism, stress eating) and lack of sleep in an attempt to please their demands (slowed metabolism, dull skin). Combined, they inevitably result in weight gain. Fat accumulation.
What's more is that this year is constituted of more drama than ever experienced before. One individual of our friendship group decided to walk out on us. No explanation, no guilt, no attempt to resolve issues beforehand. The rest of us tried to talk it out, but she made it quite axiomatic that she did not want to solve anything.
When I realised that, a feeling of familiarity swept over me.
It was the same sentiment invoked into my heart when my dog passed away.
I feel like we're never going to get her back, and we won't, I know her too well not to know that. She fails to see how deeply her actions have impacted other members of our group, or if she does, she simply chooses to ignore it.
Friendship terminated.
Of course there is a silver lining. All pieces of literature possess that element. So you see, she was my weight-loss partner. We shared recipes, exercises and updates. However, we both struggled to lose weight. We just loved to eat, so despite conversing extensively about this topic, our physiques continued to inflate.
But no more.
A new fire of determination flares up in me. Do you know what would be the best "revenge"?
Why, you're correct.
I am going to lose 10 kilos of fat, starting right now. I can't wait to see her face. I can't wait to prove her wrong. I can't wait to see her eyes loiter around my stick legs, see her mouth paralyse in a ball of astonishment. Of jealousy. Of regret.
Oh, you should have stayed with me. We could have done this together. We could have still been friends.
Oh wait. That's right, you walked out.
I will succeed this time. "This time" isn't even necessary. This is my first shot, and I sure as hell will succeed. No mistakes, no slip-ups, no cheat days, no binges. I don't even know what the aforementioned terminology is. I have never experienced them. No thinking. Yes, no human thoughts. Simply, robotically, reject the temptation. Dispose of it if necessary. No justification, no analysing. Do whatever is necessary to restrain that from entering your system.
1200 calories/less on a quotidian basis.
No thinking about it.
Just do it.
So how, you ask? Well, for one, I'll aim to lose the first 1.5 kilos. Goal weight1 53 now.
Also, I've identified a major cause of my excessive calorie intake as triggered by after school. I do well the first 6 hours of the day, but I come home, I'm hungry and tired. So I eat. And boy is it a struggle to stop from then til I sleep.
So rather than having a full-on, cooked meal, I'll have a snack instead. An apple. A pb banana. A piece of fruit. A bunch of veggies. Something that requires little preparation. Having said that, I must not eat processed food.
Another rule will be to eat something clean after school. Clean and light.
After my snack, I will chew so much gum my face hurts, until dinner.
Then I will brush my teeth, drink tea, and stop eating after dinner.
Breakdown:
-Eat a quick, clean snack after school
-Chew gum after ^
-Eat you regular healthy dinner
-Brush teeth, drink tea, chew gun after ^
Let's own October.

7:08 mile
So we had the mile run today at school.
I got really pumped.
I strapped on my watch.
And hit start.
And I got 7:08!!!!!!
Now I know it's not that good for those of you who make sub 7 miles and sub 6 miles, but this was 20 seconds off my PB. So I was pretty happy, you could say.
I did do one or two practice runs in my own time, so I can't say that didn't help.
As for the 21-Day Challenge, I set some goals. Every week, I aim to lose a kilo. By the end of the challenge, I'm hoping to lose 2.5-3 kilos.
And in general, I also set some goals. For every kilo I lose, I'll buy myself something on my wish list. Right now it's nail polish remover, because I have a pretty sparkly french manicure on at the moment but as with all french manicures, it's chipping quickly.
Other reward items include:
-Covergirl's Clump Crusher mascara-after a lot of research, I concluded this was the best one for separation, a priority for my eyelashes. The brush also gives you volume, which I need.
-White eyeliner-supposed to make your eyes 'pop'
-Workout clothing!-I really want a plain black singlet! Or another pair of running shorts :D
-OPI's Alpine Snow polish-I really want a quality white polish
-An epilator. If I choose the more costly type, maybe I'll buy it after 2 or 3 kilos have been shedded, or I'll make it my last reward. I really want it though-it would seriously make my life so much easier.
-this weird looking eye makeup tool thing-again, this would just solve all my mascara problem of getting the stuff everywhere but my eyelashes.
-one more thing...just because it will then be 9 rewards for 9.5 kilos...
I have an excursion to the city in about a month. City=style. Style=thin. I must lose weight by then!!!! I want to actually be able to enjoy the city and showcase my streetstyle fashion sense on legs that don't resemble elephants. And then I have Duke of Ed's hike a week after...my legs need to be thin to look good in my workout shorts too! And I need to get my fitness up!
Right now, as in today, I'm kind of over my daily calorie goal. I'm not saying by how much. I did want to be 52kg by tomorrow morning, and I hope today won't affect that...I weighed myself yesterday though, and I was pretty much 52!!! Maybe 52.3 or something, but almost 52! I'll have weigh in tomorrow morning first thing, and maybe I'll be nice if I'm not there yet and weigh myself after school.

HONEY BUNNIES!
But yeah. Sadly, I have been slacking off quite a lot lately. In quite a bit of excess calories at the moment...oh well? My 3 fast days are coming up, so that will be 3600 calories GONE, and my Duke of Ed hike (did I tell you it's been brought forward!?) will get rid of 4000 calories, and the rest will take care of itself.
In response to my horrible eating lately, I've decided to a 21 Day Challenge with a friend on MFP, where al you do is stick to your calorie goal for 21 days. And then hopefully form a habit of sticking under your goal. I really need to do this, a) to gain some control, b) lose 2100 calories (DC-100) and c) to gain more self-control. If I didn't have those excess calories, I would be down 2 kilos of fat by now...
Yesterday, I did the beep/bleep test with my sport class, and improved by 0.2, getting 9.6. I could've done more, but I could not be bothered...a mistake to be learnt from. I actually love the beep test for some reason...much more than the milke run. My best mile time is 7:28, but I ant to get a sub 7 mile time in a month. So, to do this, I need to do:
400m-1:45
800m-3:30
1.2km-5:15
1.6km-7:00
I tried running 400m in that time, and I literally had to sprint it flat out. I really need to train.
Oh, I'm also starting the 10 Day Ab Challenge. Its bitterly unpopular, but easy, and that's why I chose it-to fee successful at something. I've also read about the 30 Day Shred, and it seens as though people are losing heaps of inches in that program...so I might try that after.
I might also try the 20 Day (or longer) challenge, here.
I've decided to go with the low-reps-high-weights training method, therefore abolishing the 30-Day Squat and Crunch challenges. However, I read that you do need higher reps and lower weights for beginners, so that's why I'm just doing the 10 Day Challenge that is based on that training style.
OH, I might be starting swimming again!!!! Did I tell you I used to be a state swimmer?! I loved it, but my mum made me quit..still won't tell me why. But then a while after my club disbanded, so yeah. But now I found another close-ish club to our house, SO I MIGHT BE STARTING AGAIN. SO EXCITED. Actually so excited, especially because my school gave me my very belated age champion swimming trophy recently. Just looking at it made me more determined than ever to join.
This is gold.

12867
And that's the number of excess calories to date. Yes, the number has grown. That's why I haven't been bloggin for a while :(
Anyway, I had 2 binge days (in a row) and then three excess days. I feel like such a failure right now. Boo. And I haven't been exercising for a while either…just very slow walks. With the help of CardioTrainer, I figured two laps around the neighbourhood is just short of 2 kilometers, and a lap of the local park is a tad more than a mile. I should start training for a mile…but yeah.
I weighed myself (finally). 53...lost 1.5kg, but that 1.5kg shouldn't even have been there anyway. I also have some sort of ab definition in my midsection, but only in the morning and when I'm flexing, and in bright light. There will be a time (hopefully) when the definition of my abs does not depend on lighting or the amount of food eaten...hopefully it will come soon!
I think my thighs have gotten fatter though. Not necessarily larger, just...fatter. I can grab more fat around the back :(

I just want to eat close to 500. I don’t even care anymore.

Mathematics+cool poses
So...after doing the maths, I calculated that all of my excess calories add up to 9816 calories. That's pretty much 3 pounds of fatty fat fat.
How did I get here in the first place? Well, 2853 calories came from Wednesday 19th of June, one massive binge day. An excess of 2085 calories was the total of 3 days eating in excess, and 3678 calories is the total of the 3 fast days to be completed in August.
So yeah. After more math, I calculated that for the 4 weeks and 3 days I've been calorie cycling, I have an average of 1500 calories a day, including the 9816 calories.
I weighed myself today. I purposely did not get my hopes up, and thank goodness I didn't because I'm 53 (still). I guess that's an improvement from my 54.5 kilos, and I had to pee after my weigh in. So I must have been a tad lighter than 53? Hopefully! Oh well, I don't really care for the number on the scale anyway, because I want to lose fat, not muscle!
Speaking of fat, my body fat calliper came today. Only, even though it's meant to be more accurate than the tape measure method, the accuracy is quite questionable. According to the calliper's chart, I have a body fat percentage of 15%. And there is really no way that's true, because I can't see my abs (apart from at the very top) and my thighs are still massive! So I suppose I'll just follow the tape measure method then.
Oh, gues what?
I can totally do the splits! Just did them fully today, for the first time. My preferred split is the left leg split, because my right leg is really inflexible.I was so happy though :')
I went to a party yesterday, and my calisthenics and dancing friends were all there and being flexible and doing heatstands and leg mounts. And I was just there being...I can do a press?
Anyway, I kind of did a headstand there, but I'm struggling to hold it up. I can also do a one hand cartwheel, and I really want to be able to do an aerial. And a handstand. And a press hanstand. And a back handspring. And a front walkover. And a back walkover. And a scorpion, bow and arrow, leg mount, forearm stand, and all of these...

One girl, one jump rope
Anyway, I supposed I should update everyone.
Foodwise, I had a "mini" binge. 2374 calories in total, so with my goal that day of 1440 calories I was in excess of 934 calories.
BUT.
Yes, there's a but.
My jump rope came.
It's purple. I was so excited. I still am. So anyway, it came. And after a few jumps, I finally felt like the super-skilled-fourth-grader-jump-roper I once was. And it felt fantabulous. So I burned about 175 calories.
And from that day to this day, I have not parted with my purple jump rope. I have jumped every day. Happiness. And in total, I have burned 576 calories from 64 minutes of jump roping! I also had some other exercise in the past few days, so right now I'm logging all my excess calories on the mini-binge day until all the excess calories then are cleared. Right now, I have 229 excess calories to burn off from mini-binge day. Ugh.
Also, I'm one day over, if that makes any sense. So today's Tuesday, but I log all my food into Wednesday. That's how much I overate...
Oh well, as soon as I get rid of mini-binge day, I'll start logging all my cals on the actual day, and then log any exercise cals from then on into that day to get rid of the excess. Sounds like a grand plan, not.
Random note: I completed my first all-day fast in forever! (claps for self)
Sadly, I've stalled on my Crunch and Squat challenges. I'm meant to be on Day 21 (180 squats, 115 crunches), but I just completed Day 15 today and so I'm currently on Day 16. How sad...I actually do want to finish it though, no matter how long it takes me (hopefully no longer than 45 days!)
But yeah, jump rope. If you haven't got much money, space or time to get fit, get a jump rope. I got mine for $3 off ebay, and I jump in the barbecue pit (don't laugh okay), for about 15-30 minutes a day (again, don't laugh, I'm building it up haha). And it's sooo fun. Just beware of sore calf muscles the next day ;)

Fasting (for realz)
Like FOR REALZ.
And you know why it's so "for realz"? Because my mum agreed to do it with me! Well, she broke hers at 4pm, but I'm still on it! And I do intend to go all the way. And maybe tomorrow if mum doesn't ask.
I had a pizza lunch at school today though! It was hard work resisting...and then we had class parties where there was more food and omggg.
But I did it. Be proud (please)
On another note, I still have to do yesterday's Slow and Steady, Squat and Crunch, and today's Squat and Crunch. Meh.
Guys, school is pretty much over. One more day tomorrow, and then two weeks free! But I have holiday homework...grrr. Sadly, I've already filled up my fasting day today, one of my 40 hour famine days and half of another 40 hour famine day from excess calories accummulated from over the days...quite sad about that, seeing as I saw it as an opportunity to lose 3600 calories. Oh well.
In the holidays, I'm going to try to the best of my ability to
a) go for a very very long walk with a friend
b) have an all-day swim day
c) have a watermelon day
d) try to make CCK's Ultimate Chocolate Fudge Pie, if I feel like it.
Well that's it from me. Have a lovely holiday, all you Aussies xxx
This looks fun...

A bunch of stuff
I haven't been doing the Slow and Steady workout. Or the 30-Day Challenges. I haven't for two days (this is my second day).
I don't know what happened. 21 pushups just seemed like too much. I wasn't sure about the squats, and I didn't want to sweat. So I didn't do it.
I surely plan to do the challenges...make up for the stuff I didn't do as well. It's only right, right? I really should do it.
In terms of foodstuff, I've overeaten...again. Funny though, on Saturday, I was so close to finishing well. I was actually going to finish the day under my calorie goal (for once). And I wasn't even hungry! All I needed to do was eat an orange and then go back to bed. But then...roast chicken, healthy coleslaw, raisins, wheat biscuits and chickpeas entered my stomach as my mum and I watched an interesting TV series on DVD.
If you've never had the experience of wanting to fail because you're so accustomed to it, let me tell you now that it is a weird feeling. It's horrible, because you know you shouldn't and you know you don't have to and you know you're capable of not eating this and that, but one way or another you fail. You ignore all those thoughts and reach for the food anyway, and subsequently you're left feeling like the biggest failure on earth, with zero willpower.
I'm happy right now though. Bear with me, I know I should be upset, but here's why. Today I thought I wasn't going to make it. I thought I would completely lose control and binge (again). But I didn't! Hallelujah! Rather, I "just" overate the day by 500 calories. And I'm happy because tomorrow is my high day. I can have about 1000 calories that day. I'm getting back on track! I'm happy :')
Oh, and guess what?! I completed my willpower exercise on Saturday-no peanbut butter. Not that it was that hard, because I ate it all on Friday.
I'm so determined to completing this daily goal-100 plan binge-free. I looked at my skin today, and it was beyond horrible. My forehead was covered in acne, and my cheeks were beginning to break out too. My cheeks never break out. So as you can imagine, I was pretty crushed. I wrote this note on my phone to myself talking about how bad I look, skin and body. I don't know about you, but this kind of "training" seems to work better for me. I won't ever get anywhere with the "oh, it's okay, just love yourself as you are now" kind of stuff. No, I want HARDCORE.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY SKIPPING ROPE TO COME!!! I'm going to get a serious burn and sweat going everyday!
Oh, and guess what?! We might be getting a rowing machine in this house! Not that anyone else except me needs it, because I'm the only one not at gym!! There's this place across our house that sells gym equipment, and they're having an EOFY sale. The rowing machine is $150. Wow, right?
I really really really want it. Now. Only thing is, my dad doesn't seem to comply. My mum does, though and that's all that matters...haha ;) She'll convince him. She always does.
Rowing machines are great calorie burners. Like not just great, but GREAT. And they're so fun!
Guess what. Mum and I went to Rebel Sport outlet today. Sadly, the shorts and tops were all still $20 or so, not $10. But mum just very casually bought two pairs of $50 shoes. And then she bought one for me! They're RED. More reason to go running!!!

So done with squats.
Title says it all-I am so done with squats. I don't even feel it working my glutes, but the front of my thighs instead. I've spent a long time checking out the form of a proper squat online, but it's not working. It's still burning my quads only, not my glutes. And some people say the soreness comes the next day, but it just completely skips me.
So I'm kind of confused. Today I didn't do the squats, I did donkey-lift-kicks instead. But what's stopping me from not giving up my squats is this-my thigh gap has gotten a millimeter bigger. However, my thighs have gotten really quite muscular, but I'm after slim thighs instead. I really want to sculpt my butt, but I just want skinny thighs!!! Maybe I'll do squats every third day.
In the foodie area, I failed again today. Had to log in my excess calories for tomorrow. It's weird though, at about 7pm I was under my goal, quite happily full and satisfied. But I went ahead and ate peanut butter, a banana and a croissant anyway. It's like I was used to being in excess calories. Gotta change that...
So needless to say, I also failed my willpower workout today. What's wrong with me!?!? MaybeI just need to start with something easier. Tomorrow, my workout will be not eating peanut butter, which should be fairly easy, seeing as there's NO MORE IN THE HOUSE!
Haha have a lovely night everyone xxx

Well hello there. . .
This gif is awesome. Well all gifs are awesome, but this one. Im doing these challenges for the rock-hard abs, that butt, that thigh gap, to improve my fitness and there's a whole list. Thanks gif :')
I haven't been doing all the squats in a row though...I broke the 80 squats yesterday into 50:the rest, because I couldn't do them all in a row. I'll try to get as far as I can though, and then have a 10 second break or so before smashing it out again!
I was also feeling really tired this morning, so I didn't do my Slow and Steady workout...but I did it just then, thanks to this gif :)
Speaking of motivation, I really need to get some photos on here. That might motivate me more...I tried on my size 4 skirt today...nothing changed :( Oh well, it was kind of anticipated, I had two binges in less than 3 weeks.
I failed to stick to my meal plans today. I nearly did, until dad brought home coleslaw, and it was really low-cal too! So I had some, and the next thing I know I had eaten 30 grams of peanut butter. It was really sweet peanut butter too. Ew. My willpower workout tomorrow will just be avoiding peanut butter, because that is my diet sabotager. Eugh.
Oh, and I just realised I need to start drinking a whole lot more water. I already get the 8 glasses a day, but I should get more. Not only does it fill your stomach, it clears your skin and hydrates your kidneys so our liver can do its primary job of utilising your fat cells!!!
Must complete the 30-day challenges! And stick to all my meal plans!

Bingey Booooo
Had a massive binge today. What is wrong with me!? I basically forgot about eating 500 calories today. I woke up late, my hair wasn't working, realised I had footy training, grabbed a banana and 8 wafer cracker thin things. Then I ate a bunch of sultanas in the car. Seriously, what is wrong with me!?
When I got back in the car, because I missed out two crucial days at school, and mum brought along sweetpotato for some reason, I ate that. And then we went to Aldi, and I was like "who cares, I'm never going to be 99, I will never be 99, so let's just eat everything I can see". And I pretty much did. So far I'm at an excess of 2628 calories. What.
Right now, I'm not even going to bother trying to fast it off. It's only going to lead to bigger numbers of excess calories. I'll focus on getting rid of the 3000 now, and save this lot for after I get rid of that.
I really need to strengthen my willpower. Apparently it's just like any other muscle in your body; it can be trained, conditioned and strengthened. Right now I'm planning to strengthen it by doing my workout today, rather than not. Maybe every day I'll exercise my willpower with food and drink, like not eating x for one day or drinking a gallon of water a day or whatever.
I feel so chubb-chubbs though :( I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO WORKOUT TO GET RID OF ALL THIS FAT!!! Don't laugh at me okay, I'm trying to motivate myself...
Oh, and I've nearly finished planning all my meals for tomorrow, so sticking to that will be my willpower exercise for that day...
Best exercise ever:

Today . . .
Oh.
I just got it.
I don't have to clear up all my excess calories straight away. I can just do as much as I can. So maybe by the end of tomorrow, I'll only have to fast for 1 and a half days more, not 2. Wow writing helps. Anyway, I gotta do just that then. I'll aim to eat 500 calories tomorrow.
Fitness. Good. Better than food. I'm on day 6 of the 30-Day Challenges, but before working out today I was so tired. I was like I don't wanna do this. But then I started, and I loved it. I reckon the hardest part of these challenges is the squat challenge, definitely. I had to do 75 squats today, but I had to stop briefly at 50. I think my fitness level has decreased though...I didn't sweat as much and I found the workout harder than usual. Oh well. Tomorrow, I'm going to go for a run. A good, long, head-clearing run. I'll try go for 45 minutes, at a comfortable pace.
I bought an armband from ebay recently! It's for a massive Samsung Galaxy Note, and I can't wait till it arrives! I also bought a skipping rope for $3.50! I can't wait to use it again! Skipping is so fun! For my stats, just 10 minutes burns 91 calories :o Hopefully I'm still as good as when I was 12...hahaha
I've decided to reblog a picture every day. I found a few brilliant motivational blogs, or more correctly, tumblrs. Here's my picture for today!
Haha it's so appropriate :P I really hope I can stay on track with my food tomorrow!

Dark Chocolate
Yes, this delectable delight really does deserve an entire post.
Recently, I made the decision to switch from sugar-laden milk, white and any other chocolate to the very intense, less addicting dark chocolate. Just like how I switched from flavoured yoghurt to Greek yoghurt. And this chocolatey decision is a good one, and you should make it too!
There was a thread on MFP regarding the nutritional differences between dark chocolate and milk chocolate, and it discussed what I had just realised-that dark chocolate was just as calorific and fatty, if not more, than regular chocolate. So when asked how this bittersweet delight was better than the sugary stuff, a MFP user replied, "...dark chocolate I eat two squares. Milk chocolate I eat the whole block." And that's true. Because of the low levels of sugar in dark chocolate, it's not at all addictive (most of the time). But milk chocolate...I have learnt to only buy a bar, not a slab.
What's more, dark chocolate helps lower blood pressure and contains flavanoids, which help regulate blood sugar. It also increases blood flow to the brain, improving cognitive function. Moreover, it's extremely good for your brain and it's high in vitamins and minerals. And don't forget that dark chocolate really satisfies your tastebuds...
So what type of dark chocolate should you consume? To obtain the maximum benefits dark chocolate offers, you should consume the type labelled 60% or higher.
The first type I tried since making the switch was Lindt 85%, which now that I think about it was perfect. It comes in easily breakable 10 gram squares, and that's only 58 calories and 1.3 grams of sugar.
The second type I tried was Moser Roth's Mint Dark Chocolate. If you're just starting out with dark chocolate, this is for you. It doesn't even taste dark, it just tastes like milk! It was sooooo good! But that's the thing-it was so good it was addictive! Moser Roth packs it chocolate in individual 25 gram bars-the mint one is 140 calories per bar and 10.5 grams of sugar.
The third type of dark chocolate to find it's way into my mouth was Cadbury's Old Gold 70% Dark Chocolate. If you're concerned about thie bitterness of dark chocolate then you should absolutely try this one. I don't know if it's because I was accustommed to dark chocolate, but this chocolate seemed to be sweet, especially since it was packed like Cadbury's regular milk chocolate. 25 grams will give you 137 calories and 7.7 grams of sugar.
And right now, even though I'm meant to be fasting, I have Moser Roth's 85% Dark Chocolate sitting next to me. It's slightly sweeter than Lindt's 85%, but that may be purely because I'm used to it now. 25 grams is 145 calories and 3.7 grams of sugar, 0.45 grams more than Lindt's. Still, it's more dark chocolate tasting than Cadbury's 70%! I ate that like normal milk chocolate!
Yesterday, I found out that 100% dark chocolate exists! Yes, 100%. That is going to be intense!!! Oh, and they make 99% as well, just because 1% makes a huge difference...

Feeling Like a Failure!
Okay, so I need to completely fast tomorrow and consume 387 calories the next day to get rid of my current excess calories (not the massive 3000)
I can do this right? I know I'm capable of fasting from when I wake up to when I come home from school, because I'm busy for the whole time. But then, when I get home...mum becomes the most aggressive food pusher to exist, temptations tempt me and I justify my eating. But I need to do this. As in really need to do this. I don't want to be carrying around an excess 2400 calories, especialy in addition to my already excess 3000 calories.
And having a bit of a rant here. I looked at myself after my binge and was really upset. All I could see was the top of my thighs squishing together, a fat stomach and a saggy butt. And when I lifted my knees up, I didn't get a nice gap like this, I got the top of my thighs squishing together and all the fat made my skin look horrible. Bumpy and blemished, not the smooth skin in that picture. And I don't even have a thigh gap anymore! At 48kg, I had a decent thigh gap but it could've been bigger. Now I don't even have one anymore. Don't even get me started about my stomach. I could see the fat rolls when I did situps, and it quite literally spilled over my shorts. Ew.
Sorry about that ramble. It's only been 17 days of calorie counting, 10 days actually restricting, and I've already undone one week with that 3000 excess. So basically I've only restricted for 3 days. Wow. Anyway, slow progress is still progress, right? Sometimes I just wish it would be quicker though...

Help with Diet + Challenge Updates
Uh oh...it's happening again...the excess calories, I mean. It's only 9:46 am and I've already filled my daily calorie limit, from all the excess last night. What do I do?!?!
I will definitely try to eat as little as possible. I will not eat anything in private, but I will only eat when I'm forced to eat...and when I do eat, it'll be veggies. That should work, right? I'm so nervous...I still need to get rid of those 3000 excess calories! Someone be my accountability buddy and help me!!!
I'm on Day 4 of the 3 30-Day Challenges now, but I'm yet to complete today's. I feel...lethargic? I feel mentally tired, but I just know that absolutely MUST do it otherwise I'll feel so bad...I'll probably do it in the afternoon or something then.
Have a good day lovelies xxx

DECISIONS.
I HAVE FINALLY DECIDED TO DO THE 30-DAY SQUAT CHALLENGE, 30-DAY CRUNCH CHALLENGE AND MINI-CIRCUIT FOR 30 DAYS.
This is in addition to my morning "Slow and Steady" workout, where every day you just do 1 more pushup, 1 more situp and 1 more squat, for as long as you can.
Anyway, I'm happy with my decision. Nervous, but I know it'll be so much more beneficial than not doing it. One of the biggest influences of this decision was the quote "In x days, you'll wish you started today". That's so true!!!
So I'm 10% done with the 30-Day Challenges, and today's my rest day. The first day was hard. Like seriously hard. I had to use my arms to make the situps easier, had to pause when squatting, and the plank was challenging. However, on the second day and third day, my strength progressed. I could really feel that I was already stronger, as I didn't have to stop. And yesterday, doing my 3*1 minute planks, I didn't have to look at the timer to see how much longer I had to hold it for! Just kept going...hahah
So if YOU are contemplating undertaking these challenges, stop. You should just do it already. It's just a total of 20 minutes of discomfort, and for the rest of the day you'll be satisfied. Oh, and you burn about 60 additional calories! So JUST DO IT.
In the foodie area, I've been a bit bumpy. Yesterday, I thought I was doing the Extreme Fat Loss week, so I ate 960-100 calories. So 860 calories. But then, today I realised I wasn't onto that quite yet and so today I have a regular 1210 calorie allotment today. Unfortunately, mummy dearest steamed some DELICIOUS pork buns this morning...but they are just about the worst food you can eat. White flour, high sugar-making them addictive, and high cal, weighing in at 225 calories each! And they're smaller than the size of your fist. So anyway, I had one. And another. So that was 550 calories gone, in less than 10 minutes.
And when we went to Coles, I got some 70% dark chocolate...it was more calorific than regular chocolate, but less sugar, hence less addictive. Or it should have been. I ate 50 grams of that stuff! It didn't even taste bitter! So...it's only 5pm and I had to log the excess calories today in for tomorrow. And I haven't even had dinner yet. Boooo :(

Boooo :(

Challenges!
So a friend of mine on MFP just sent me her daily workout routine. It was INSANE. She said she's only been doing it for 5 days, along with eating healthy, and I can see abs and a thigh gap on her!
Anyway, her workout consisted of 3 challenges and a mini-circuit, and she does all the challenges three times! Told you it was insane! She did the 30 day crunch challenge, 30 day squat challenge, 30 day push-up challenge and then the mini circuit, every day. You can just google all the challenges, but the circuit is at the end of this post.
I was contemplating doing what she did, but I'm afraid it may be too much for me to handle all at once, in addition to my As Long As You Can Challenge.
Oh, and there's also the 30 day Abs Challenge, which looks pretty doable too...so that's another option!
The squat challenge starts off with 50 squats...that's an awful lot of squats...should I do the crunch or squat challenge?! Aargh...I'll decide later I guess. Right, off to workout now! For the first time in months! So happy...
